The platform deliberately separates the GOLD Grammar Reading PathGOLD Grammar Reading Path from the Level One certificate courseLevel One certificate course. Grammar reading/reference activity does not rewrite the scholarly Grammar corpus and is not a certificate requirement for Level One.

Two different “Assignment” concepts exist. Level One L1-A1 is a 40-question automatically graded formal assessment under Exercises. The separate Assignments application is for instructor-assessed written work and feedback.

Courses catalog and enrollmentየኮርስ ዝርዝር እና የኮርስ ምዝገባ

Ordinary users see only course versions whose database status is Published. A privileged administrator with the required MFA state can also inspect Draft course versions. Each course card exposes course code/title/description, version, item count and status.

Opening a course shows its units and items. If the signed-in user has no enrollment, the Level One detail page can present Enroll in Level One. Self-enrollment creates or reactivates an Active enrollment and stores future formal progress under that GTM account.

Source-plan nuance: the audited seed-plan source defines Level One version 1 initially as Draft. Public availability therefore depends on the deployed database version having been explicitly published. The final manual must describe the live production state, not the seed default.

Every required component has an 80% mastery target. Level One’s six optional Grammar reference chapters (2–7) are useful study references but are explicitly not required for the certificate.

Assessment availability comes from server-side prerequisite rows. The Exercises catalog displays each item’s mastery target, best full-attempt percentage, mastery state and whether it is unlocked. Starting a locked assessment fails with a message to complete the previous mastery component first.

The source description explicitly states that Assignment 1 unlocks after Exercises 1–8 and Level One Vocabulary are mastered. Other prerequisite relationships should be documented from the live seeded database rather than guessed from ordering alone.

Starting a full attempt and question-order rulesሙሉ attempt መጀመር እና የጥያቄዎች ቅደም ተከተል

Sign in and have an Active or Completed Level One enrollment.
Open Exercises & Assessments.
Choose an Unlocked component and click Start or New full attempt.
The server creates an In Progress attempt and freezes that attempt’s randomized question order.
A new full attempt is deliberately prevented from repeating the exact same question order as the immediately previous attempt.

For L1-VOCAB100, the 40-question attempt is balanced: 4 questions are sampled from each of 10 vocabulary groups, then the selected questions are randomized.

What happens when you answer a questionAnswer እንዴት ይመዘገባል?

English prompt and Amharic prompt are displayed together.
Each answer option has English plus the parallel Amharic option text.
Clicking an option immediately posts the answer to the server.
The first accepted answer is authoritative. The options are disabled afterward; clicking again cannot replace that answer.
The current browser view immediately says ✓ Correct or ✗ Review this answer and appends the English explanation from the grading data.
Previous/Next moves between questions without changing saved answers.

Reload nuance: already answered questions return disabled and show “Previously answered.” The audited template does not reconstruct the full prior explanation styling after reload, so the manual should not promise that the complete immediate-feedback panel is reproduced on refresh.

Finishing, scoring, best attempts and masteryማጠናቀቂያ፦ score፣ ምርጥ attempt እና mastery

Finish full attempt is accepted only after every question has an answer. The score is correct ÷ total × 100, rounded to two decimals. At 80% or higher the attempt passes.

The platform retains the best full-attempt percentage for each component. New attempts increment the full-attempt count, but a lower score does not replace a higher best score. Once the best percentage reaches 80%, mastery time is recorded and the corresponding course-item progress becomes Completed.

After grading, eligibility is recalculated across all ten required codes. When all ten are at least 80%, the completion service can automatically create the locked completion, transcript and certificate records.

The Assignments index lists active assignments for your Active or Completed course enrollments and the latest submission status/percentage/feedback. If none exist, the page explicitly directs Level One learners back to Exercises because L1-A1 is not duplicated here.

Draft workflow

Open an instructor-assessed assignment.
Enter a text response.
Click Save new draft or Save draft. Drafts are private server-backed records.
Continue editing while status is Draft.
Click Submit for grading. A blank draft cannot be submitted.

If the assignment has a fixed due time, submission records whether it was late. A submitted draft is no longer editable while awaiting instructor review.

Instructor outcomes visible to the student

Returned — instructor feedback asks for revision; this state enters the staff submission queue.
Graded — points, percentage, graded date and feedback are recorded.
A later submission number may be possible after grading if the assignment’s maximum-submission policy allows it.

Current file-upload boundary: assignment-file tables exist in the schema, but the audited student UI intentionally does not expose upload/download yet because private storage and malware-scanning runtime gates were not declared passed. The current student submission is text-based.

Post-completion attempt policy: formal Level One assessment attempts require an Active enrollment. Once the enrollment is Completed, new formal attempts are not opened; the learner is directed to the completed academic record instead.

□ Verify the live seeded prerequisite graph, not just source ordering.
□ Level One version 1 is published in production; verify this status again if the course version changes.
□ Confirm the active-enrollment-only formal-attempt policy remains enforced.
□ Capture live assessment feedback/reload behavior.
□ Confirm whether/when instructor-assessed assignments will be used in Level One or later courses.
